Facebook musings

I don’t know what’s nerdier: The fact that I joined Facebook or the fact that at 1:36am, I used it as an analogy to explain the catch-up line.
I blame my torts essay.

Comedic ALC Highlights

After reading Jien Mae’s entry about ODH with Powerhouse (blown away by your effort Mae), I felt a twinge of regret that I couldn’t check out Hao’s YMCA dance routine. However, hanging out with the Ablaze leaders and champs had its highlights:
- Me causing a mini scandal by being in one of the girl’s rooms. [...]

Some say leh, some say lah

Lauranne showed me this video and it was one of the most amusing things I’ve ever watched. If any candidate at the next Federal Election did this, I would so vote for them. Go Asian pride-lah

Fidgeting and Integrity

Last night, I realised something. I fidget…a lot. Whenever I’m talking, laughing or just ’sitting still’ I’m always doing something, always moving. Whether it’s changing my sitting position every 10 seconds or playing with my pen, I never keep still. For the first few shepherding sessions with Nick, I rarely kept eye contact with him.
However, [...]

Quote of the Day

The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and left untried.
G.K Chesterton

Nicknames

Like everyone else, I have my fair share of nicknames. However, the one thing that I find most interesting is the variety of situations in which my aliases arose:
- Trungsten: My friend was very bored in chemistry and was looking at the Periodic Table. A brainwave occurred to him – tungsten, Trungsten
- Mr T: After [...]

BGRs

I swear it must be an Asian thing because the moment I turned 18, there was a sudden upsurge in interest and immense speculation about my love life (or lack thereof). All my parent’s friends give me sly glances and knowing nudges to get a move on. Even Ablaze gets in on the act with Chris [...]

There’s Only One (Holy One)

By Caedmon’s Call. I guess this song just reminded of the fact that Christianity is *surprise surprise* after Christ
Left his seamless robe behind
Woke up in a stable crying
Lived and died and rose again
Saviour for a guilty land
It’s a story like a children’s tune
And it’s grown familiar as the moon
So now I ride my [...]

Great Conversations

I remember this amusing exchange I had with someone ages ago:
“For some reason, I keep thinking your name is Steven”
“…That’s because it is.”
Really need to start writing people’s names down.
I’ll write something of depth soon….I promise

Embarassing Moment #2341

During my lecture
My phone (which was on silent) rang and in my brilliance, instead of pressing the hang-up button, I turned on the loudspeaker instead.
Because there’s nothing better than drawing unwanted attention to myself.
